My MRI Shows Disc but I Don’t Have Pain?

Sometimes your MRI can show a disc bulge of herniation but there’s no pain because it’s not hitting a nerve.
  • It can be hitting a nerve area that doesn’t affect pain.
  • Like we said previously, it’s not hitting any nerves.

Here’s the bottom line- get checked because really those MRI findings need to be corrected with a physical exam and consultation. This is exactly what a doctor at CT Spine and Disc Center will be doing.

The Glastonbury Chiropractor is located in central Connecticut- CT Spine and Disc Center specializes in patients who suffer from sciatica, disc degeneration, bulging disc or herniated disc in the lumbar spine. For low back pain, neck pain, midback pain, headaches, fibromyalgia and more, chiropractic can help you. Call our Glastonbury office at 860-633-8756 to schedule an appointment and to see if you are a candidate for non surgical spinal decompression.

Chronic Back Pain Can Be Directly Related to Overall Health...

Back pain can happen to anyone, but I can tell you that individuals who are overall healthy- heal quicker, respond better to care, and often have a lower level of pain. Here are some steps to take to improve your overall health which will help get rid of, lessen, and prevent back pain.

#1- We are what we eat! Putting in good fuel means we’ll get good fuel out. Limit going out to eat because you don’t know what’s in a lot of the things you’re getting, plus you sometimes can’t avoid the fried stuff and sugars.

#2- Start walking a little everyday. Just a 20 minute walk a few days a week makes a difference. Get out, get some sun and fresh air.

#3- Avoid excess stress and toxins to your system. If you smoke and/or drink, try to decrease it; if your job is extremely stressful, do what you can to change your environment if possible. Mental stress will eventually turn itself into physical stress.

#4- Drink a little more water and take a multivitamin supplement. We all know these days that it’s impossible to get all the vitamins and minerals we need from our food, we really need to supplement. Also, most people I know don’t drink enough water.

Try doing these things as best you can and watch your health improve. Add chiropractic treatment to the list and you’ll become not just a little healthier, but one of the healthiest.

It’s EXTREMELY Important To Educate Yourself On Your Back Condition!

Nowadays, anyone can google what symptoms they have and learn more. Let’s say, for example, you have an L5 radiculopathy (you may know this because one of your doctors diagnosed this), or let’s say you have disc and facet degeneration at L4. Get on the internet, do some research, go to the library, ask around.

Keep in mind there’s a lot of junk out there on the web, and you can get the wrong diagnosis or bad advice, but educating yourself is very important.

I recently spoke to someone who said she saw a surgeon she was referred to by her primary care doctor. This surgeon told her she needed surgery right away (by the way all he did was read the MRI; no exam was even performed). This individual, the patient, said “I’d like to get another opinion or think it over before I do anything.” Before she left the surgeon replied, “be careful on the road, if you get in an accident you could be paralyzed.” Pretty unbelievable and scary night!

There are good and bad doctors of all types just like there’s good and bad politicians, or chefs, or truck drivers, but the bottom line is be educated so you make the right decisions with your health.

The person in the story I described above may be rare, but you better believe crazier things have happened. If you don’t feel comfortable with your doctor, find another.

At CT Spine and Disc Center, our chiropractors will do the necessary tests needed and look at any MRI’s, x-rays, etc … and ask the right questions and give you the honest answers you need. In fact, numerous patients have told us that they have never had such a thorough exam before.

So educate yourself so you know what your options are and make the right decision regarding your spine health.

Is spinal decompression only for people in severe pain or can I get treatments for prevention.

Its no secret in my office I do a decompression session with the Drx9000 one time per quarter. I have no back issues but I do it for prevention. It’s a known fact that over tme your discs flatten and lose hydration and your back starts to get degeneration. Doing the decompression helps keep the discs healthy and hydrated preventing arthritis and degeneration.

On top of doing a regular decompression session I of course get adjusted by my chiropractor, Dr. Gill.

So if you are looking to maintain your back or prevent any future back problems call our office at 633-8756. We can tailor a low cost maintenance plan for your spine.

My Doctor Told Me To Lose Weight...Then Come Back And See Him!

I Have Osteoporosis Or Osteopenia Bone Deterioration...Can The DRX Or Chiropractic Treatment Still Help Me??

Most often the answer is YES!, it can still help. Most people at some point in their lives get bone and disc deterioration or breakdown. This is the same thing as arthritis or degeneration which will happen somewhat with age. DRX9000 Treatment, You May Be A Candidate!

Some get more of a weakening of the bones called osteopenia. If that steadily gets worse and becomes what we call severe osteoporosis where the patient presents with stress fractures and collapsed vertebrae unfortunately they will not be a drx9000 candidate.

They may still be a candidate for another therapy in our office. Things like heat or ice therapy, gentle muscle work, Electric muscle stimulation therapy, or a specific chiropractic technique such as activator. Activator Is A Special Tool That Make A Very Gentle Chiropractic Adjustment
This is a very gentle type of chiropractic done with the "activator tool" vs the usual hand on approach.

However, to put things in perspective - out of the hundreds of patients we've had come in for drx9000 treatment , or the hundreds we've had for chiropractic treatments - only a few had severe osteoporosis where they could not get drx9000 spinal decompression, or hands on chiropractic. They did receive other therapies that helped as well as our special gentle chiropractic techniques that gave them relief.

Do not let your spine break down completely before you get into our office. The sooner we address your aches, pains, and health issues, the faster and easier they are to take care of. DRX9000 Featured In MD News...See Your Spinal Decompression Doctor For A DRX9000 Consultation

A Good Lumbar Support Belt Can Prevent Your Back Pain From Getting Worse

Throghout the years many patients have asked me about wearing a lumbar belt to help or prevent back pain. With so many products on the market, and so many different patients with different lifestyles and back conditions, it's hard to know what might be best for you!

I've used many different types of suppot belts and have alot of experience with all different types. The Corfit Lumbosacral Low Back Support Belt is the one we recommend the vast majority of the time.

It's not too hard or restricting, is very thin so you can wear it under clothes and no one will notice, is easy to put on and take off, and is easily cleaned. Often times patient's who have come to our office for Chiropractic Care or Spinal Decompression will use a lumbar support belt during the early stages of their care.

It helps them heal quicker, and helps prevent any additional injuries and strains while their back is healing.

If You Ignore Your Pain…It Can Soon Be A Disaster Just Waiting To Happen!

Pain is a symptom or in other words your body trying to tell you something. Some people ignore their pain thinking “It’ll go away on it’s own” or “I’ll deal with it later, it’s not that bad”; this is often a big mistake.

It’s sort of like, if your oil or engine light is going off- just covering part of the dash so you can’t see the light. Then one day what might happen? You’ll be on the road and your car dies; or worse, it starts smoking and the engine starts on fire. The car engine is completely destroyed and unsalvageable.

Good news is, you can buy another car. Bad news is…you can’t buy another spine. Some of us out there I think actually take care of our cars better than our bodies!

Don’t ignore your pain…99% of the time it won’t cure itself…and if left alone most times it gets worse.

Visit the doctors at CT Spine & Disc Center in Glastonbury Connecticut to find out if they can help you get rid of your pain before it gets any worse.

    I was diagnosed with 5 or 6 bulging/herniated discs...

My name is Peter Ward and I have had back problems for years and years. I am 20 years old now and they have been progressively been getting worse for 5 or 6 years until it got to the point where I couldn't walk anymore. I was diagnosed with 6 bulging/herniated discs. I saw the Drx9000 on the internet and thought I had no other options anymore. I previously tried everything- cortizone shots, steroids, pain managment, physical therapy et... So I came to CT Spine and Disc Center and the people were very nice plus after the first week of treatment I was 80% pain free and it fixed my worst nightmare. Thank you guys so much for everything and giving me my life back”

Do You Or Someone You Know Suffer From Severe Lower Back or Leg Pain?

If you are suffering from chronic low back pain and/or leg pain you could have a disc issue. Disc herniation, disc bulge, and degenerative disc are said to be responsible the majority of cases of severe chronic lower back pain, sciatica, and extremity numbness and muscle cramping and spasm.

It is also known that most people who have a disc herniation or bulge know they have it; they just don't know what to do about it!

If you're not sure, an MRI of your lower spine will confirm this diagnosis.

Until now, not much has helped. Medications and pain shots (also drugs or medications) are temporary and can have nasty side affects. Surgery is an absolute last resort and success rates for lower back surgery are very poor.

Luckily now we have another option! Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression with the DRX9000!!! The results are extremely successful and there are no known side effects. You can call CT Spine And Disc Center and Dr Bellinger for a consultation to find out if you may be a candidate at 860-633-8756.
