A Great Tip To Loosen The Neck

The next time you are in the shower, do some stretching in the hot water.

First, make sure you are stable and won't fall.

Next, Do a lateral neck bend. Bring one ear toward that shoulder.

Then, reach up with a fist on the opposite side. Run that hand down the neck, stripping out the muscle. I say in the shower because you can use some soap to make that rubbing smoother. You can use a massage tool also, like the picture. And you may not need to do it in the shower.

You can use this technique on other muscles too.

Jaw Trigger Point Massage...

Instead of straight up and down your jaw may veer sideways even creating a "Z" pattern. You can often fix this by massaging the muscles. Here's a video on massaging the jaw:

The "Tennis Ball" Trick

Using a tennis ball is a great way to massage out trigger points in the muscles. Trigger points are when the muscle binds up and creates a knot. This often causes pain because it restricts motion and puts pressure on nerves. Watch this short video where a chiropractor shows how to use the tennis ball.
