The way it works is to pull the discs back into place, taking pressure off of the nerves. Those discs or disc that is injured causes inflammation which puts pressure on the nerves.
Once the disc is back in place it has a chance to heal. Think of the disks as "jelly donuts"; a thicker crust on the outside and jelly on the inside. If we put the jelly back and seal up the crust it will, for the most part, be okay.
