Did you know that about 11,000 people injure their back's shoveling? Yeah, pretty crazy right? That being said, here's some shoveling tips. Before even shoveling make sure you are dressed adequately. The weather channel link will even give you some tips on that. Here's what to keep in mind when shoveling.
- If you experience pain; stop shoveling. Have someone else do your driveway. And it's totally worth it to have someone plow your driveway.
- Bend with your knees. Flex the knees and bend as much as you can with them versus bending solely at the back.
- Pick up and dump snow with the shovel as straight on as possible. In other words, don't bend and twist, that's the worst position for the back.
