A forward bend to the side (a bend with a twist) can stress the disk in a weak spot.
The most common area of a disc for injury is called a Postero-Lateral Disc Herniation or Disc Bulge. That’s diagonally to the back.
Think about it - When you bend forward and to the right it puts the most pressure back and to the left. It’s that area of the disc that is the most commonly injured.
Now that we know that,: try to bend with your knees and meet something straight on when you attempt to lift a heavy object.
The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.
