Can Stretching Help My Back Pain?

Stretching is a very important part of a good exercise routine. If not done properly however, it can lead to more pain. Research is telling us that instead of focusing on stretching before a work out we should focus more on a warm up. So in stead of that bend and try to touch your toes, try a light jog for a couple minutes. Then after your workout stretch, it'll feel better and will elongate the muscle.

Instead of a stretch try moving a bit: arm circles, trunk twisters, jogging in place and things of the like. So next time you go to stretch out that back, try a little warm-up first. One other tip is to take that hot shower to warm the muscles up a bit before any exercise.
