I Never Had To Stretch...

My wife recently pulled her Right Hamstring muscle. How did it happen? After playing basketball with our son she said to me “I think I pulled my hamstring muscle”.

I said, “you probably should have stretched a bit”. “Plus, all you drank today was coffee”.

So that’s two big things right there: drink more things that hydrate you and your muscles. Water is my choice and will prevent muscle injury by keeping the muscles hydrated. Coffee does exactly the opposite - it dehydrates you!

Now, not stretching doesn’t help either. So try to warm those muscles up and stretch to keep the muscles loose and limber.

“My Back Is Just Sore”

Whether it Sore, in Pain, Is Numb, whatever, there is most likely some nerve pressure there somewhere. However, it can be okay if it’s just a muscle type soreness that dissipates quick.

For example, maybe you worked the back real hard for a day, and you noticed that soreness for a day or two.

If it persists then you may want to see your Chiropractor. The key really is to get your spine in alignment and get pressure off the nerves.

Using a back belt or something to sit against that aligned your back and prevents slouching, will help.

Can Diet Effect My Back Pain

The answer is: of course! A poor diet can inhibit how the body functions and this can more easily create pain or make a pain worse.

Typically drinking more water or food high in water content is good. The hydrogen and oxygen are used in many body reactions, not to mention does help to hydrate the discs in between the bones.

The opposite may be true for things that dehydrate you. When the disc go down slightly there is less room for the nerves and we get pain.
