I'll never forget how a colleague called me to tell me how he knew someone who was trying to get pregnant for a very long time and had no success.

After getting adjusted however (I don't know many times (I do know she did get her low back adjusted). Whether it was a main factor in her getting pregnant we can't say for sure but you can surmise that it helped.

So the mom was obviously very happy, but so was her Chiropractor and so was I and many others I'm sure!

The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.

Can The Chiropractic Adjustment Help My Headaches?

First let me say that about 90% of headaches come from the neck. A simple X-ray or plain film radiograph can show us the exact misalignments.

Keep in mind your Chiropractor with their trained hands can feel a lot. I even know of a case where someone that had bad headaches for years, after one adjustment felt much better.

I was also told that this individual was prescribed medications he knew had dangerous side effect, and since they find the seem to help anyway, he stopped taking them!

The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.

I Have Leg Pain, Is It Coming From My Back?

There is a good chance. Have you had any images for the lower back. An MRI will show the discs. An X-ray will show us the disc spaces.

On either image you may see jagged edges or misshaped bones telling us there's been degeneration or arthritis.

At the office a complete consult or history will tell us if the pain originates from the leg or if it's from the back. An exam will tell us exactly. So the next best thing may be a consultation and exam from your doctor. He will order the appropriate tests too ( an MRI for example).

If you are suffering from back or leg pain or even both contact us today. The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.

The XRay Report Said Spondylosis, What Does That Mean?

Spondylosis means degeneration. So on an X-ray or MRI it may mean some arthritis, disc space flattening, jagged edges on bones, etc...

As we get older and spinal misalignments have been there longer, there is a very good chance we have built up some arthritis.

Of course the longer things have been that way, the more severe the breakdown occurs. It also becomes more difficult to fix. Don't get me wrong though, it can still be improved and/or fixed. Start by using the Arc4life Traction Neck Pillow each night.

The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.

A Simple Stretch That Can Keep the Back Loose...

Every morning make it a priority to do they need to chest stretch. Do one side then do the other, and then do both legs at the same time. My recommendation is to hold for about 30 seconds and relax. Repeat the stretch again another two times. Holding underneath the knee may work best whereas people who have knee problems or a replacement may have trouble holding on top of the knee.

The knee to chest stretch works well laying down but you can do one leg at a time standing as well.

So there you have it, the knee to chest stretch, a great stretch to loosen the back and hamstrings.

Spine Predicts "text neck" Epidemic From Phone Usage...

Yep, another person I know got rid of their house phone. That means they just use the cell phone. Hey, one friend I have must leave his house phone off because I call it and no one answers. The cell, on the other hand, he picks up right away...

A problem for many is that they develop something called text Neck or in other words tek neck! This happens when one always has their head down creating forward carriage or loss of the Cervical curve. So if you're always on your smart phone texting, on the internet, or whatever, watch out for neck problems.

The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.

"How Does Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Work?"

The way it works is to pull the discs back into place, taking pressure off of the nerves. Those discs or disc that is injured causes inflammation which puts pressure on the nerves.

Once the disc is back in place it has a chance to heal. Think of the disks as "jelly donuts"; a thicker crust on the outside and jelly on the inside. If we put the jelly back and seal up the crust it will, for the most part, be okay.

That's what drx non-surgical spinal decompression does. It helps to put the disc back in place allowing it to heal.

What is the difference between a disc herniation and a disc bulge?

Let's define each and this will explain the difference. Keep in mind that both of these could cause severe pain. The pressure can cause pain but also nerve pressure could be become numbness and tingling, or burning and more.

When you have a disc bulge that tells me that the outer disc literally "bulges" outward much like a tire or balloon that gets pumped up too far; you can see part that expands out. Where as a herniation or protrusion the inner disc comes out or breaks out causing pressure and closes much of the space the nerve travels in.

In the case of the herniation, the inner disc or the nucleus pulposis breaks out or crosses the annulus fibrosis or out of disc boundaries. Whereas, in the case of the bulged disc, the outer disc, or annulus, expands out.

"I Get Back Pain Leaning Over The Counter"

That posture where you are leaned a bit forward can get you. Especially when you do it for a longer period of time.

This applies to leaning over the counter or sink cooking and washing but may be leaning over folding clothes or screwing something in.

Leaning forward slightly can push the discs back. The neuralfor Ramen are more towards the back of the third bay with this with their roots come out also when the disc comes straight back there possibly can be crowding into the spinal canal which actually puts pressure on the spinal cord.

The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.

Why Is Getting Adjusted Often Part Of Someone's Health Routine?

We know that your overall health is directly proportional to your nervous system health. It is chiropractic care that works directly in helping the nervous system.

Aligning the spine helps relieve all pressure on the nerves and keep those nerves flowing like they should. This allows the nervous system to function at its best, and therefore your overall health to be at its best.

It has been shown that those who get regular adjustments are healthier than the average...

The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.

Can Chiropractic Help My Back Pain?

Yes, of course. That is the reason most people go to the chiropractor. It's for back pain. Results show us that surgery doesn't really help with that very much and if it does, there's a good chance that the pain comes back.

The fact is, the majority of people will have an episode of back pain once or twice in their life. We don't all want to rush to get surgery or see the doctor for medicine for back pain.

Chiropractic care remains one of the best options for back pain. Also, their is a newer treatment for back problems called drx9000 non-surgical spinal decompression. This has proven to help many people suffering with severe back pain and leg problems.

What is the difference between Nerves and Nerve Roots?

The nerve roots are a bundle of nerves. Off the spinal cord comes nerve root that branch into nerves, that branch into smaller and smaller nerves.

When a disc puts pressure on a nerve, it is often a nerve root. When there's pressure nerve root there could be a number of symptoms associated with that.

There can also be pressure to a more distal individual nerve. Let's take an example. You have a herniated disc in the lower lumbar spine. This gives you back and leg pain all the way to the foot. Where as an individual who wore shoes that caused some foot pain, that pain is local to that area.

"Can Drinking More Water Help My Discs?"

Technically, drinking more water can help the discs for a couple reasons.

One way is that it helps hydrate the discs. When the discs are more fluid they can move better, they heal better, and they are better shock absorbers.

Number two, the hydration essentially gives more height to that disc which leaves more space for neves to come out.

And three, when you have water, think about the symbol for water - H2O - you're actually gaining oxygen as well which you also need to survive.

"I Think I Have A Bad Disk"?

It's very possible you have a disc that's causing you pain. There's basically a disc between each bone of the spine. So seven bones in neck. The neck is referred to as the cervical spine. There's 12 bones of the thoracic spine or dorsal spine; mid back. And there's five bones of lumbar spine or your low back. When you say "bad disc" you mean a disc problem.

A disc can cause a lot of pain because they often can put direct pressure on nerves or nerve roots.

"Why Can A Bad Disc Be Such A Problem?"

Really, the first question is what is a "bad disc"? We would be referring a disk that is causing a problem or that is not like the others and putting unwanted pressure on nerves.

It depends on where that nerve pressure is that tells us what symptom we're going to have such as pain, or maybe tingling and numbness, and and where that pain it is, and how severe it can be.

Also, because where the disc lies and correlation to where the nerves or nerve roots come out of the spine makes it common for a herniated, bulged, or degenerated disc, to cause some major nerve pressure.

How Can I Easily Combat My Back Pain?

There's a few simple things one can do at home.

The first one is diet - avoiding highly inflammatory foods is important but drinking a good amount liquid like water is also high on the list. Those discs in between each spinal bone have and need a large water content.

Next, is keeping the spine in alignment. A great way to do that is when you sit. Simply use a lower back posture cushion to keep that spine where it belongs. Seeing your Chiropractor can also make a big difference.

Lastly, stretch the muscles and keep Them loose. Remember all those muscles attach to bones and when things are really tight they will pull thing out of alignment this means no pressure this means no pressure and no pain.

Why Is The Neck Roll So Important?

One of the biggest Neck misalignments out there is loss of the cervical curve. If you have a straight curvature, otherwise known as a military neck. Then there is a reversed curve or kyphotic neck. This is where the spine goes in the opposite direction.

A kyphotic area like the thoracic or dorsal spine is a curve that opens towards the front of our body. A lordosis or a lordotic curve opens (the neck or low back) towards our posterior or towards our back.

The body is made like this to keep our spines as healthy and strong as possible.

How important Is It I Have A neck Roll?

It is very important your pillow has a neck roll and gives you good support. Often if your pillow is too soft or old, it has lost its support. We need the neck roll because it keeps A "C" curve in the neck. When you have a "C" curve of the neck, the nerve fibers have no pressure. But when we lose that curvature we get pression nerves which could lead to problems. This may not just be in pain it may also mean tingling, numbness, weakness, or something else. The bottom line here is that for our bodies to work like they should we need to have the nerves free of pressure because any pressure equals a problem. A pillow that doesn't give support allows your neck to flatten out - exactly what you don't want. The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.

Should I Take Vitamin D?

I must say, D has become the super vitamin. It may help a lot, and be an immune system helper. We know also that it works with other vitamins and minerals such as vitamin K and calcium.

The best way to get it though, is from the sun. That does depend on the time of year and your latitude. In the summer you get more of course. If you live in the north, you probably get vitamin d in the summer months. The sun is higher and has more direct rays.

We don't all get vitamin D all year so we may need to supplement...
