Hard Lumbar Belts...

Most often I recommend a softer type belt. I've found they're easier to use, more comfortable and something the vast majority will like better. The reason is really so we can get some movement. Whereas the hard one restricts the motion completely. There are times when the hard one might be needed. Maybe right after a serious surgery for example. For most suffering with back pain, we want some stability! But we want to get them moving again. Motion is life they say; each joint has motion, and it's when we stop moving for too long it's a problem. Motion allows inflammation and other cell waste to exit an area. It also helps nutrients and other important cells get to an area. Therefore, we want to restore motion as soon as we can! The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.

Do You Have The Right Pillow?

I see many who base their pillow size on the size of their bed. This may work for decorative or throw pillows, but not for sleeping... For instance you can have a really petite/ small woman with a big pillow for her king size bed. That doesn't work because it just pushes her head up. And that's not what we want.

Really pillow size is based on height, but everyone's a little different...

What I mean by this is #1 - some people just prefer a certain size pillow. I have some people who fit the height mold for the small traction pillow but love a bigger pillow.

I also have a couple guys who are shorter than 6'1" but they have a football players neck. They like the large version of the traction pillow. Or let's say you're tall but have a shorter neck, maybe the medium is the way to go! The Back Dr’s specializes in pain relief for the neck and the lower back. We will help you have better posture, get better sleep and help you be more comfortable. Helping you find natural remedies for your active lifestyle.
